DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the Burnaby BCIT Campus is home to 27\,000 bees? Our campus beehives\, along with pollinator-friendly trees\, shrubs\, perennials\, and ground covers are one way that BCIT supports sustainability and enhances natural spaces on campus. \nOn World Bee Day we’re celebrating these powerful pollinators with a special event. \n\n  \n12:30 – 1:30 pm: Learn more about pollinators and their role at BCIT. We will be building solitary bee habitats out of logs harvested from BCIT projects\, and making bat boxes to be installed on campus. \n\nLocation: Townsquare D\n\n1:30 – 2:30 pm: Join us on a walk to the south end of campus to learn more about rewilded and restored  areas of BCIT that support pollinators. \n\nStarting from Townsquare D\n\nJoin us for one or both of these activities. If you are only joining us for the walk please make sure to arrive at Town Square D by 1:30. Please help us out by registering\, so we have enough supplies for everyone to take part in the activity. SUMMARY:BCIT / Royal Road Collaboration  – Online Information Session
DESCRIPTION:BCIT Interior Design is running a pilot program at Royal Roads University Langford (John Horgan) Campus\, starting Fall 2026 \n  \nWe will be offering 2 classes in the Fall term: \n\nINTD 1100 Design Theory (3 credits) \n\nThis course introduces the student to visual perception and conceptualization. Through lectures\, discussion and studio exploration students will discover the fundamentals of design\, the design process\, and creative thinking. Hands-on exploration\, sketching and analysis\, will allow the student to explore and apply the elements and principles of design\, developing an awareness of its application within our environment. Theories pertaining to human factors will be explored including proxemics\, anthropometrics and ergonomics. Students will work individually and in groups to create 2D and 3D solutions\, presenting their ideas to their peers.\n\n\n\n  \n\nINTD 2120 Fabrics & Applications (2 credits)\n\n​This course will cover fibres and fabrics as they apply to residential interior design. Characteristics of natural and synthetic fibres will be explored.
